Reincarnation
One of the biggest questions of life is what happened when it is over?
Will we be in heaven, hell, annihilated or reincarnated?
Reincarnation is an English word. The word reincarnation was in the dictionary since the publication of the dictionary. This just simply means it was there a long time ago.
Reincarnation as defined in the Oxford Dictionary as the rebirth of a soul in a new body. Soul is the spirit or the immaterial part of a human being or animal.
If you were to ask around, how many people believe there is reincarnation?
Even until today, not many of us can understand or believe there is such an event or happening call reincarnation. A lot of people think it is illogical or they just simply do not believe.
Why so many people do not believe there is reincarnation?
In this modern and scientific world we have been trained to learn from proof finding, testimony, verification, evidence or attestation. The proof finding, testimony, verification, evidence or attestation must be able to be verified by our senses and the mind.
Whereas reincarnation cannot be verified, comprehended or perceived by our senses and the mind and that is why we simply find it illogical or difficult to believe there is reincarnation. People who believed in reincarnation may be considered superstitious or irrational because there is no solid evidence or concrete proof to support it.
If our mind and senses cannot perceive, it will be very difficult for others to explain to us of any subject under discussion. It is just like trying to explain color to a blind person.
How can you explain color to a blind person?
Color can only be perceived by sight from the eye. Color is non material therefore it cannot be felt, has no smell and does not create any sound.
Is there color? Yes.
But why a blind man cannot understand or believe there is color?
It is just simply a blind man do not have the sense faculty to perceive it. This is also why a normal human being has difficulty trying to understand or believe there is reincarnation because none of normal human being mind and senses can perceive reincarnation.
Just a reminder, our senses are not perfect. A lot of things we do not see or hear do not mean they do not exist. If you were to compare our senses with animals, we are way off the mark. Cat can see in the dark. Dogs and dolphins can hear sound of very low decibels from far away.
There are a number of religions believed in reincarnation and there are also some religions that do not believe in reincarnation.
Allow me to quote an analogy of reincarnation not from any religion point of view but from simple scientific point of view. So simple that even an illiterate can understand.
As we are all know that water is H2O. H2O can be in a number of forms, i.e. besides water it can be in the form of ice or vapors. The basic nature of water, ice and vapor is H2O.
When the form of water is exposed to temperature of 100 degree Celsius it will transform from water to vapor and evaporates into the air.
And when the form of water is exposed to temperature of 0 degree Celsius it will transform from water to ice.
Now after the vapor evaporates into the sky, will it become annihilate or become nothing? No, the vapor will remain in sky until the temperature reaches a certain temperature it will then transform the vapor into water and it will come down as rain water.
This water will be transformed into ice when the temperature reaches 0 degree Celsius. This H2O will transform from one form to another form depending on conditions. This H2O cannot annihilate or become nothing. It is a form of energy. Energy cannot be destroyed it can only be transform from one form to another form depending on the conditions. This is a cycle and is moving around.
To quote another analogy, The Sun, Planets and Moons are all round in shape. The moon circles around the Earth. The Earth and all other Planets circles around the Sun. Everything are moving in a circular motion.
If everything is moving in a circular motion, how can we human being, being part of the universe not be moving together with the universe movement?
We human being is also a form of energy. When we die, where is this energy going to go? This energy will be transform to another form.
Just to quote another analogy. A radio consists of all the material part. You need to have current to operate the radio. Finally there must be this wave frequency to tune to the channel to produce the audio.
The human body is the material part of the body. There is this energy to make it living. Finally there is this soul that comes into the body to differentiate the person.
The body is the material part. The energy is the current. The soul is the wave frequency. These 3 things when combined together it becomes alive.
So in reincarnation, it is the soul that is searching for a body to become the next person.
What differentiate a person is like different wave frequency with different channel.
If you were to do a search in Google, there are many very compelling stories about reincarnation. Some of the stories are so compelling that it is difficult not to believe.
As I was writing this article it happened that one of the greatest Sage in modern time by the name of Sai Baba passed away. He was claimed to be the reincarnation of a popular Hindu holy man from Western India called Sai Baba of Shirdi who died in 1918, eight years before he was born.
It was reported in the Star News Paper on the 25th April 2011 that thousands of people are flocking to seek blessing from a newborn child in Mandaya district near Bangalore who they believe is the rebirth of Sathya Sai Baba.
The reason why the boy is claimed to be the reincarnation of Sai Baba is because the latter had stated before his demise that he would be reborn in Mandaya district.
Why is it that Sai Baba is able to know where and when he will be reborn?
Sai Baba is a Sage who has achieved a certain level and able to know or see when and where he is going to. This is known as the third eye. With this third eye he can see his previous life and next life.
There are many Sage who have attained a certain level and they are able to see or know their previous life and next life of himself and also of other people.
When we die, what will we become? We will be reborn. We as ordinary human being can only believed there is reincarnation because we do not possess the faculty to become conscious or able to comprehend reincarnation.
What will we be reborn to? This will depend on the actions of what we have done. For example, if you were to boil the water to over 100 degree Celsius, it will become vapors.
And if you were to put the water in the freezer with a temperature of 0 degree Celsius, it will become ice.
The water will not become vapor when the temperature is 0 degree Celsius and vice versa way that the water will not become ice if the temperature is above 100 degree Celsius.
What will be born into will depend very much on our actions?
Whether we are born to a higher or lower status will depend very much of what we have been doing while we were alive.
This is one reason why we are all born unequal. Therefore what you are today is because of yesterday. And what you will be tomorrow will depend very much on today.
Just pause and ponder the below idiom.
Time is infinity. Any period of time, be it a hundred years or a million years is a speck of a moment.
While we are still able during this very short moment, do more goods, avoid evils and purify the Mind to be a better person and for a better tomorrow.
What is Good?
Good is what you want others to do unto you.
What is Evil?
Evil is what you do not want others to do unto you.
What is a purified Mind?
A purified Mind is free from greed, hatred and ignorance.
